Removal of old plants and last of the apples

Yesterday, 16 Oct,  I finally managed to spend some time in the garden!

I removed plants that were finished producing crops – broccoli, cauliflower, spinach and mizuna – 3 wheelbarrows full!  These were big plants!

Once I’d removed them there were large patches of the garden that needed mulching so I covered them with half rotted peastraw – 3 bales.

We’re down to the last Granny Smith apple in the fridge.  The apples have stored really well over the winter. A few more (apples or fridges??) and we’d make it through the year!
