On Saturday (23 June) I planted garlic – about 140 cloves of Takahue red from Koanga Gardens. Lovely big fat juicy cloves! We ate some of the smaller cloves, these were similar in size to those pictured below. These are bigger than the garlic cloves I’ve been growing for the last few years.
Yesterday (25 June) Paul and I planted 120 redwood trees in the old horse paddock – only another 1,180 to go! Paul has marked out places at 4m centres and is spraying these and the in-between spots at 2m centres. We are planting using this spacing and will go back and fill in at the 2m centres with the trees that remain after the first wave of planting.
Awaiting planting
Believe it or not, there are 120 trees planted here!
Here’s 2 of them up close… They blend in really well!!
Paul is out marking positions and spraying for the rest of the trees. You can see stakes with bright orange tops behind him – if you look really hard!!!
