We’ve been eating a lot of cherries and raspberries over the last week. Paul picked the last of the cherries yesterday – about 5kg. I picked 2.5kg of raspberries today and 500g of strawberries.
I’ve just put 3.5kg of rhubarb on to cook so that I can make rhubarb cordial. Yum!! we’ve a bumper crop of rhubarb also. I may make another batch of rhubarb cordial in the next few days. I don’t remember how much cordial comes from 3.5kg rhubarb, so I’ll wait and see.
This morning I planted some seeds – brussel sprouts (Long Island improved and fillbasket) and leeks (Lyon) in the glasshouse, and carrots (Paris market and berlicum) in the garden.
3 Jan – from the 3.5kg rhubarb I made 3l cordial (4 glass bottles). I’m doing another 4.5kg rhubarb today. That should give me a good supply of cordial in the freezer!
