On 28 Feb I made a huge batch of zucchini/tomato sauce for the freezer.  I used 6kg zucchini, 6kg tomatoes (from the store) and 5 heads of garlic.  All were panned fried in small batches and then cooked together.  I put the sauce in 5 ice cream containers and then into the freezer for a taste of summer in the middle of winter!

1 March I picked more zucchini (!), cucumbers, soybeans and tomatoes.

I also planted out seedlings that have been waiting for a while now.
56 leeks – 24 spaced well apart to grow into big leeks and 32 closer together to use as baby leeks
4 brussel sprouts – 2 each of fillbasket and long island improved (all were covered to protect them against the plague of white butterflies)
18 lettuces – 6 each of freckles, red oak leaf and green oak leaf.
