Friday, 5 April, I picked most of the beans remaining on the vines and bushes. Over the weekend I shelled these. All beans were transferred to bags and put in the freezer. They will be great in casseroles etc over the winter – no more buying dried beans for me! None of the pictures show the peans – I podded a blue bowl full (like the scarlet runners, but not heaped) and saved 20 seeds. They look very similar to the Mother-in-law beans, only much bigger.
