Harvesting summer fruit and vege

We’ve been away on our summer holiday to Decanter Bay.  Once again, it was a delightful place to spend a week.

Beach activities – building a sand and rock castle, kayaking

Having fun in the waves with the boogie board and biscuit
We took many fruits and vegetables with us – plums, zucchini, cabbage, beans, potatoes and lettuce.

Van Rosa potatoes

Plums – we’ve picked another 20l!
The raspberry harvest was very disappointing this year.  However, the nectarines and cape gooseberries have produced large quantities of delicious fruit.  It is quite dry where the raspberries row, and it didn’t rain much while the fruit was forming – perhaps that is why there was so little fruit.  Also, we covered the canes later than normal – perhaps the birds beat us to much of the fruit…

That was the entire raspberry crop!
Sweet, juicy nectarines!

Yummy cape gooseberries.  I love the way they are enclosed in little capes (see below).
