Comfrey, weeding, seedlings

11 November I cut back the comfrey and spread it around the asparagus, beans and peas.  The rest of it went into the compost bin.

A good load of comfrey for the garden!
As I was wandering around the garden, I noticed that the strawberry patch was hosting a great crop of weeds, so I removed these.  I also noticed that the weeds around the fence of the vegetable garden were getting close to seeding, so I cut down all of these.  Everything looks very tidy now!  It was also time to uncover the cape gooseberry.

14 November Ben and I planted seedlings in the tunnel houses – Baxter’s early bush cherry tomato, basil, capsicums and chilli.  We also peastrawed the tunnel house containing the capsicum/chillis.  The next projects were to weed the areas where the pumpkins would be planted and to plant the green apple cucumber seedling.

15 November we planted out 7 butternut seedlings in 4 groups, 3 hopi grey winter pumpkins and 2 Zambezi gem pumpkins.
All remaining bare patches were peastrawed.  This used all of the old batch of pea straw.
Bamboo poles were put up for the peans, I have yet to erect poles for the Gila Indian beans.
