Compost, ketchup, cordial, seedlings

11 Jan, I rotated the compost in the bins.  Bin 3 contents are sitting in the wagon and wheelbarrow awaiting a good day for spreading on the garden.  Bin 2 went into Bin 3.  Bin 1 was split – older stuff went into Bin 2 and newer stuff back into Bin 1.

12 Jan I made tomato ketchup from the 3l of roasted tomato sauce in the freezer.  This gave me 5 bottles of delicious ketchup.
I also made 5.3kg of rhubarb into cordial – 6 bottles.

16 Jan I removed the pea plants and their supports.  Pea vines went into the compost bin.  The compost from Bin 3 was scattered onto the asparagus bed, rhubarb plant and around the pumpkin plants.
I planted out the silver beet seedlings (2 of them) and the brussel sprout seedlings (4 of them).  The brussel sprouts were covered to keep them safe from the white butterflies.  The leek seedlings are still in the punnet under one of the garden sprinklers.  Hopefully they will survive while we are in Decanter Bay this coming week.
