This week it’s been a little cooler, so I’ve been out in the garden more.  I weeded Bed 5 – it REALLY needed it.  The weeds were big but easy to remove.  I also removed the old lettuce plants.

I laid a thick layer of pea straw on the area where the lettuces had been and over all of Bed 5.  It looks very neat and bedded down for winter.

In anticipation of spring, I sowed 12 broad bean seeds in punnet – all of them the purple beans.
