Pumpkins and beans

Mum and Dad stayed during the weekend.  We went to work harvesting pumpkins and beans.  All of the beanstalks were removed from the garden and the pods removed from the vines.  Ripe pumpkins were picked and the remaining vines trimmed so that I am able to use the paths again.

The paths are free of pumpkin vines!

Most of the pumpkins are gone and so are all of the beans.

I have a bucket of each of Gila Indian beans, Scarlett runner beans and Peans to shell over the next few evenings.  After saving some for next years crops, the remainder will be frozen.

The table out on the deck is once again covered with pumpkins in the last stages of ripening.  A few pumpkins remain in the garden – all of the Zambezi gem are still in the garden.  On the deck there are:
3 x Hopi grey winter
8 x butternut squash
19 x Austrian oil seed
