29 May – I placed a thick layer of pea straw on Beds 2 & 3.  This took almost all of 1 large bale.  A neighbour’s girls helped refill the manure bins.

31 May – Suzanna and Ben helped me cover Bed 1 with a thick layer of pea straw.

Only Bed 4 to be covered now and this really has to be done after the asparagus dies down and I cut it back.
