There seem to be a lot of hedgehogs about at the moment – adults and babies. I decided to do my bit to protect the baby birds, lizards etc by moving two of the adults inside the vege garden fence where they can cleanup the slugs for me. I’m not sure how well this will work, but it’s worth a try!
I found these lilies flowering down our driveway and couldn’t resist bringing some inside.
The vegetable garden is still in the process of being cleaned up. We are onto the last bed and path area. Meanwhile, some plants are ready to be eaten – potatoes, beans, celery, silverbeet (chard), lettuce, rocket, sorrel and zucchini. Elsewhere, the Cape gooseberries are just beginning to ripen and we have finished the cherries – a bumper crop from both trees. We also had a reasonable crop of raspberries this year.
