Butternut squash

The weather over the last few days has been very wintery.  The squash leaves were first shredded (hail) and then died off all together (cold).  A couple of days ago the high temperature for the day was 6°C!  So today I picked the 17 squash and brought them inside in the hope that they will ripen a little more.

I have been thinking about the vegetable garden beds a lot over the last week or so. There is too much space for the amount of vegetables that 2 adults require.  The new plan will be:

Bed 1 – potatoes (already there) & strawberries
Bed 2 – annual vege
Bed 3 – annual vege
Bed 4 – asparagus, rhubarb, jerusalem artichokes, yams (remains the same)
Bed 5 – potatoes (already there) & pumpkins
