Yesterday I planted out 25 leek seedlings (5 rows of 5) and 3 celery seedlings. I did this in the cool of the evening. It’s too hot here during the day at the moment – we are having a bit of a hot, dry spell – around 30°C, no clouds anda sea breeze most days. Today is sweltering – no sea breeze! It’s great weather for swimming though…

Around the farm I’ve been spraying old man’s beard and blackberry. I don’t like spraying, but sometimes it’s the best option… For old man’s beard I prefer to cut the vine and paint the stump with herbicide, but for large areas, that’s just not an option.
