Persimmon tree and more weeding

The persimmon tree has had a great season of growth. It’s autumn colours are stunning! Most exciting of all – it has it’s first fruit; there are 4 in all.

Hidden treasure…

I began weeding my way up the path between beds 2 & 3. This is a mammoth task as there are were viney weeds growing all through the strawberry vines. Thankfully, I removed the last of these today. The next patch may be even worse – it is full of sorrel. This is a wonderful salad green, very lemony, but grows like crazy. In the photo below it is the thick green mat – some with red/brown flowers – in front of the meshed plant cover.
