Himalayan lily

The Himalayan lily (Cardiocrinum giganteum) flowered back in December 2018. It smelt SO good. The flower spike was about 3m high. Today, I cut off the spike with the seed pods and shook all of the seeds into a container – they filled a 2l container! I planted the seeds in shady areas of the garden by scraping back the leaf mulch, mixing a handful of seeds with soil and recovering the area with leaf mulch. Hopefully, several new lilies will grow! The original lily has new shoots at the base of the dead stalk.
