Seeds for winter vegetables

This morning, I sowed the rest of the seeds for winter vegetables.

Some were sown direct in the garden and covered with microklima cloth cloches for protection from birds:
Carrot – a mixture of Juwarot and Touchon
Beetroot – Chioggia
Parsnip – a mixture of Avon resister and Guernsey (I know that it’s probably too late for these to go in now, but maybe something will happen – spring parsnips????)

The remainder were sown in punnets in the glasshouse (old seed refers to seed that had an expiry date of 2017/2018):
Lettuce – Heritage x 6 (old seed)
Broad beans – Sutton’s dwarf x 6 and those that are in the garden now x 6
Broccoli – Purple sprouting x 6 (old seed)
Cauliflower – Purple cape x 6 (old seed)
Cabbage – Red rock mammoth x 6 and Savoy chieftain x 6 (old seed)
Chard – Perpetual spinach x 2 (old seed), Ruby x 2 (old seed) and Rainbow x 2
