This morning I finished mulching the empty section of Bed 5 and the whole of Beds 2 & 3. Hooray! Once the potatoes, yams, artichokes and asparagus die off, I’ll cut them back and manure and mulch their beds – most likely in late June – early July. Now it’s time for a welcome break. I really enjoy looking at the garden when it has it’s layer of peastraw mulch – to me it all looks tucked up and ready for winter.
