Youngest son cut the large plastic barrels in half. Husband and I put them in the area that will soon be covered with the net, filled them with soil and sheep manure before covering them a thick layer of peastraw. Today, I dug up some of the extra raspberry canes from the raspberry patch and planted two in each of the eight barrel halves. Next year, we should get raspberries from them – YUM!
