Tomato seeds and apples

We have been picking up windfall apples for some weeks now. The Kidd’s orange red have started to fall in reasonable quantities over the last few days, so I picked most of those on the tree this morning. We have given away several bags of apples and now have a large bowl full and both fridge bins are also full – these will last us through winter and spring. Husband has been drying apples over the last few weeks – there are now about 10 containers of dried apple slices and a couple of dried pear slices in the cupboard.

I have been picking delicious tomatoes for several weeks also. Yesterday, I removed the seeds from a red, a yellow and a red/green striped tomato. The seeds are soaking in water so that the slimy coating will rot away. Once the seeds are clean, I will dry them and they will be planted next spring.
