Garlic & flower seeds

It was time to clean the garlic and bring it in from the barn. I cut the heads from the dried stalks, trimmed the roots and rubbed off the dirty outer layer of leaves.

I have 20 heads of early white, 20 heads of early red and 40 heads of small cloves (Takahue?). The early red and early white were planted from fresh heads from Koanga Gardens, the smaller cloves from my own seed garlic. I have kept 5 heads of each type to use as seed for the next crop (to the left in the photos).

I also gathered seeds from aquilegias, poppies and sweet william. I will sprinkle these around the garden in autumn and again in spring.
