Yesterday I picked a bowl full of tomatoes. They are so beautiful.
As I was wandering around in the garden, I noticed that some of the bean pods were beginning to dry on the plants and the plants starting to die-off. I picked all the pods that were drying or came off very easily, took the pods to a community function and had many helpers to shell-out all of the beans! It was a brilliant plan. It turned out that most of the beans were Norridgewok peans with a pile of Good Mother Stallard and a single pod of Gila Indian beans. I ended up with about 2 litres of beans – from these I selected some for replanting next spring and the rest for the freezer.
