Yesterday I looked at the buds on the stone fruit trees to see if they were beginning to swell or not.  I think they are almost ready!

Last year, the trees were all badly affected with leaf curl fungus as I was away at the time of bud swell and so was unable to spray them with a copper spray.  I am going away again, so decided to spray them anyway and then to repeat the spraying on my return if they are swelling then.

While I was in the orchard, I noticed that the hazelnuts are flowering.
