Today I weeded an area of Bed 1 (obtaining half a bucket of potatoes in the process. I then dug in horse manure that has been soaking in water for a couple of years. Garlic cloves were planted in shallow trenches. The trenches were then covered over with a thin layer of soil and sludge chunks and mulched with pea straw.

I planted 6 cloves of Elephant garlic, 52 cloves of Rocombole early red (4 trenches with 13 cloves) and 60 cloves of Takahue red (5 trenches with 12 cloves).
