19 May I removed the seeds from 22 oil seed pumpkins. Some were kept for planting next year. I soaked the rest (3 litres of seeds) for a couple of days to remove the phytates (I need to research this further to see if it soaking is efficacious, necessary and/or desirable).

I have left the other pumpkins (11 butternuts, 7 Hopi grey winter, 3 crown) on the table outside for eating over winter.

21 May I rinsed the oil seed seeds and drained them in a colander. The seeds were spread out on ovens trays and dried at 100°C for about 2 hours. Once the seeds had cooled, I put them in a jar for eating.
