Earlier this week (Monday-Tuesday, 13-14 August) we had a total of 189mm of rain. Our stream flooded, taking a few fences with it, and there were several landslips in the area. One of them was bad enough to close the road out for 1/2 day.
Yesterday, 18 August, I finally cut back the asparagus ferns. In the process I noticed that it’s almost time to start harvesting asparagus!! Today I mulched the bed with pea straw. I’m looking forward to that asparagus!
