Cutting back the pumpkin vines

I decided it was time to cut back the pumpkin vines so that I am able to walk around the pumpkin patch and so that I can see the ripening pumpkins.  It may also result in the pumpkins ripening faster as more sunlight will be able to get to them.

Before cutting back (I’ve already done the left front edge)

After cutting back – it doesn’t look so different,
but there are a lot less vines (see below)
Vines!

This was accidentally cut off with the vines.
I hope it will finish ripening inside.

I also cut back the weeds from the fence line inside the garden so that nothing will seed into the garden.  Paul trimmed the weeds between the pumpkin patch and the garden fence with the line trimmer.  It’s all looking very tidy!

The last thing I did yesterday was to dig potatoes.  I dug up 2 rows of the Karoro variety (10-12 plants) and found these potatoes – not many and all small.   I don’t think I’ll plant any more of them.
