Fruit trees, Tunnel house tidying

17 August – I resprayed the fruit trees with copper oxychloride – some of the stone fruit buds are swelling preparation for opening.

It was time to cut back the bamboo so that I can safely mow the lawn without impaling myself on the branches that bend over so that they are almost horizontal.  It gave me several new stakes for the garden.
The brussel sprouts and celery had leaves that were getting old, so I removed these and tidied up the plants.  It’s much easier to pick things from them now.
I covered the beds of the weeded tunnel house with black plastic.  I cut a single piece large enough to over the inside of the tunnel house and tucked the edge in behind the iron edges.  I cut the centre so the the extra could be tucked away under the path area. When it is time to plant, I will make a small hole in the plastic for each plant to go through.
All ready for planting…

This one is still waiting….
