The title is a nice way of saying “Still more weeding and cutting back…”
It was a beautiful day today – a very frosty start and then sunny with clear blue skies. Consequently, I spent a couple of hours out in the garden. I’ve spent a few afternoons out there over the last couple of weeks – one with my friend Rebecca who was put to work clearing the paths.
I have now completed the weeding and mulching (with peastraw) of Bed 5, the cleaning of all of the paths except those around Bed 3 (they are covered with sorrel) and the cutting back of the Jerusalem artichokes, rhubarb and 2/3 of the asparagus bed. The asparagus patch still requires mulching, but as can be seen from the final photo, the sun had headed behind the hill and it was getting quite chilly – a sure signal that it’s time to head inside for a cup of tea!
