Asparagus/artichoke bed

Today, I completed the work on Bed 4 – otherwise known as the Asparagus/Artichoke bed. A few days ago, I finished cutting back all of the asparagus and weeded the bed and surrounding path. Much to my disgust, sorrel was starting to appear in the bed near the rhubarb. I think I have removed it – time will tell. I also removed all of the path tiles toward the sorrel bed in order to get rid of the sorrel from under the tiles. Today, I spent about 2 hours fertilising the bed (with blood and bone) and covering it in a ruffled (as opposed to solid) layer of pea straw. It looks lovely!
