I’ve been watching the kiwifruit out there on the vines, wondering if they are ready for picking or not. I looked at them again today and discovered that a couple of them are starting to split. I ate one – it was good! So, I picked all 42 of them.
Daphne odora is in full flower at the moment. It smells so good walking about in the garden. A few of the new daphnes planted last winter are flowering also – white-flowered Daphne bholua, and the purple-flowered Daphne hybrida (collina x odora). A couple of weeks ago it was the wintersweet. I also found the first of the early spring bulbs in flower – Narcissus and snowdrops.
