The zucchinis are really getting going now…. We’ll have to eat them just about every day!!
It’s also a good year for sweet corn with many cobs produced by both Sweet early gem and Country gentleman.
And the tomatoes are starting to ripen. Freshly picked, ripe tomatoes are amazing!! I took seeds from Wonder variety to plant for next year. I looked in the blush coloured ones at the top of the basket and didn’t find any seeds! I’m not sure what is going on there! I will continue to collect seeds for planting from the next few batches of tomatoes that I pick.
Once the seeds have been removed from the tomato fruit, they go into a jar of water where they stay until there is a good layer of mould on the surface. The seeds will then be removed, washed, dried and stored for planting in spring.
